About
Training should be understandable
Curative Strength is a training system and a body of education built around one idea: a lifter who understands why a decision works makes better decisions than one following instructions.
Why it works this way
The belief
Most training advice arrives as instruction - do this many sets, use this split, follow this program. It works until something changes, and then it offers nothing, because the reasoning was never handed over with the prescription. Curative is built the other way around: explain the mechanism, then give you the tools to watch it happen in your own training.
Where it came from
Curative did not start as a decision to build fitness software. It started with an interest in bodybuilding and in the question underneath it - why does this work, and how would you know?
The app came out of coaching. Running real training for real people meant needing somewhere to plan blocks, watch what each one produced, and tell progress apart from activity, and no existing tool organized training the way a coach actually thinks about it. So it got built - first as a better platform for clients, then opened up once it was clear other coaches and lifters wanted the same thing.
The writing came from the same place. Evidence on training is abundant, contradictory, and mostly written for other researchers. Translating it into decisions you can make in a session is work worth doing on its own, whether or not you ever open the app.
Everything here is built by one person, in the open, without sponsorship. Nothing is recommended because someone paid for the placement.
How the pieces fit
The articles, the newsletter, and the material still being written are where ideas get explained. The app is where they get executed and measured. Neither is an advert for the other - reading Curative should be worth your time even if you never make an account, and the app should be worth using even if you never read a word.
-
Learn
Read what the evidence actually says about training and hypertrophy — volume, progression, exercise selection, recovery — written to be used rather than cited.
-
Train
Put it into a real block. Programs, mesocycles, and a workout log built to capture what happened, not just that it happened.
-
Understand
See the response. Volume against your landmarks, strength trends, muscle-level detail, and whether the block did what it was supposed to do.
What exists today
Three things are built and open. Two are being written, and they say so.
The app
Available nowWorkout logging, programs and mesocycles, progress analytics, and Muscle Lab. Free to use.
